Who Am I?

I’m Lauren, I’m a registered veterinary nurse with training and experience in exotic, wildlife and zoo nursing.

I have been an RVN since 2012 and have since spent my career in a huge array of veterinary environments including

  • Referral

  • Charity

  • University

  • Exotic

  • Working Abroad

  • ECC/ICU and OOH

  • Zoo

  • Wildlife rescue, rehab and release.

Since 2012 I have spent time in South Africa, Malawi, Australia and the Indian Ocean volunteering and working with a variety of species such as

  • Pangolins

  • Big (and medium) cats

  • Antelope

  • Primates

  • Rhino

  • Sea turtles

In 2018 I returned to education to complete an undergraduate degree in International Wildlife Biology and have since undertaken freelance ecology work such as bat surveys and ECoW.

In 2022, I packed my bags and flew to the Maldives to become the Olive Ridley Projects first sea turtle veterinary nurse. Here I undertook nursing and rehabilitation of sea turtles and assisted the resort biologist (Rosie - pictured right) with sea turtle data collection and marine surveys.

I have studied exotic, zoo and wildlife nursing certificates to include a post graduate certificate in advanced veterinary nursing, becoming one of the first nurses to undertake this course in this discipline obtaining the RCVS recognised Cert AVN.

My most recent roles included
